Has anyone run in to something like this ? Help!! Do I actually need a battery? If I unplug the battery and turn on car all lights go off till I turn off the car n turn on again. If I gas it to like 4.5 rpm all lights go on. A few days later same thing happened, So I did the same and unplug the battery, car runs great till I turn it off. He said I may need a battery but we need to run more test on it.

Everything came up lol but he did a reset on my ecu, car worked great for a few days. To reset the computer and see if any codes come up. Everything was ok till after the alignment was done. The fallowing morning I when out for a alignment. So I pulled over and unplugged the battery for a few seconds the car was back to normal. It said to take in to the dealership ASAP. Having a AEM boost gauge I saw I had no boost. All the lights and check engine lights came on.I noticed I had no boost at all. Car was driving ok till after a few miles. I was doing some suspension work on it and battery did die. My stereo is installed correctly, as the problem exists even when the stereo is disconnected.I stop driving it for about 2 weeks.

I’ve had everyone throw a schematic at me telling me to figure it out, but if I knew how to do that, I wouldnt be posting my problem online. I had the entire dash pulled apart and could not find a loose wire or loose connection anywhere. I plugged it in, heard a door chime for a second, then poof, the fuse blew. I figured out that the “Interior Lights” fuse is blowing almost the second I put it in. However, my Rear Defroster, Dome Light, door chime, etc are still out. The 97 I got it from had a nicer dash anyway. While I was at the junkyard I went ahead and picked up a new cluster anyway. I went to a junkyard and replaced the dimmer switch (next to the cruise control switch) and I now have dash lights, all except for the light behind the air control knobs, the shifter, and the ashtray…most of which worked for a second but then went out, even after I changed the bulbs. I still have yet to get a new dimmer switch (the one with the adjustable knob) and that is my next step. I’ve looked all over and cannot find a solution. Now the Small Lights Fuse no longer blows, but my dome light and rear defroster still dont work. Today I tore apart the dash, checked all the bulbs and wires and everything looked to be in pretty good shape. The Small Lights fuse also use to blow whenever I would replace the fuse and turn the lights on. Then they started to come on and off, and when I would bang on the top of the dash they’d stay on for a little bit, but eventually they went out and never came back on. When I bought the car, the lights all worked just fine.

– None of my fuses are blown (in both the driver side panel and under the hood) My clock, hazard lights, cruise control, and cigarette lighter also work just fine. – My AC and heating controls are functional. (I’m told these are all part of the same fuse) – My dome light, wiper delay setting, and rear defroster do not work. (The lights above my radio and the lights in my gear shifter). By that I mean the lights in my speedometer, fuel gauge, RPM meter, and temperature gauge. I do have an aftermarket stereo, but all wires and connections are sealed up and protected. Here’s the problem, followed by some background to help narrow it down. Hey guys, I know this problem has been brought up here before and I’ve searched for solutions, but havent seen any threads with my identical problem.
